****PLEASE DO NOT BUY**** Special Listing for Daddy Rolled A 1! The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh TSR9062, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st Edition Vintage Greyhawk Adventure Module by Dave J. Browne with Don Turnbull, Good Condition
This vintage 32-page adventure module was authored by Dave J. Browne with Don Turnbull and was published by TSR in 1981. This fun adventure will challenge characters of levels 1 to 3. It is set in the kingdom of Keoland as part of the World of Greyhawk.
This module is so much fun for the DM. I consider this adventure as Scooby-Doo and the gang meet Dungeons & Dragons. Let's just say this is the type of mystery the Scooby crew was always solving.
This is the first module in the Saltmarsh trilogy. The adventure trilogy is continued in Danger at Dunwater U2, and concludes in The Final Enemy U3.
There is also a collection of adventures for the 5th edition released called Ghosts of Saltmarsh. First-rate work, even though I do not play 5th edition. I adapted some of the information when running the old adventures recently.
This series of adventures were brought to us by the folks at TSR in the United Kingdom. It definitely has an old English fishing village vibe to the whole series. I really enjoyed the entire series.
From the cover of the adventure:
Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist's mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumors of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?
The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh is the first installment in a series of three modules designed and developed in the United Kingdom, for beginning adventures with the AD&D rules. The adventure can be played by 5-10 characters of levels 1-3. This module contains large-scale maps. Full background information and detailed encounter descriptions for the players and DM.
This adventure is in good condition. The cover shows heavy edgewear, scuffing, and moderate corner rounding. There are a couple of discolored spots in the map margins and a few light scratches. The maps are beautiful, including the diagram of the Sea Ghost. The interior has rusty staples, a few discolored spots here and there, rusty staples, and a few stray pencil marks. The pages are grey with age. There is a stain on the back cover that has bled through a couple of pages. Not sure what this is. It does not look like it was really used. Overall, the module is complete and while not in collectible condition, it would make a great playing copy.
If you are a Greyhawk aficionado like myself, here is a link to a great online map of the Flanaess by Anna B. Meyer. I can get lost in this map for hours!
Please look at the pictures and contact me if you have any questions.
Most of my packing supplies are reused, so don't be too surprised if you have a combination of paper, airbags, and whatever else I have laying around.
I would be happy to wrap your gift purchase at no charge and write a personal note on the packing slip. Just add a note to the shopping cart at check-out.
