L2 The Assassin's Knot TSR9057, Vintage TSR Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st Edition Greyhawk Adventure Module by Lenard Lakofka GD/Incomplete
This excellent 32-page adventure was authored by Len Lakofka and published by TSR in the early days of this whole tabletop gaming revolution.
This is the second module in the Restenford Mystery Series. At least that was the working title for these adventures according to former TSR employee Lawrence Schick. The series began in The Secret of Bone Hill L1 and continues in this adventure.
Deep Dwarven Delve, L3 is also set in the Lendore Isles. L3 Deep Dwarven Delve was created years ago and run as a tournament module at the 1979 GenCon XII and was reportedly run by Lenard Lakofka himself. The adventure was publicly released in 1999 exclusively as a part of the Silver Anniversary Collector's Edition boxed set.
I do have a copy of the rare Silver Anniversary Collector's Edition boxed set in shrinkwrap available as well.
From the back of the module:
"If you want someone murdered, go to Garrotten." It is a common saying in Restenford. The small, peaceful town of Garrotten is rumored to be the headquarters of a deadly band of assassins. Perhaps there is nothing to this talk. Perhaps it is true. There has never been any reason to find out. Until now... The Baron of Restenford is dead. The first day following his death, Restenford was a hornet's nest of activity. No one was allowed to enter or leave. The castle itself was sealed to outsiders as soon as the murder was discovered. Wild rumors hinted that the body was left in a condition that made magical restoration impossible. That evening came an urgent summons from the reclusive sorceror, Pelltar, whose council continued late into the night. By midmorning of the next day, you were well on your way to Garrotten. Three slender clues are all that remain - three possible chances to unravel the tangled web of intrigue that doomed the Baron of Restenford. The sun is warm, and the land around you is full of life. By nightfall, you will arrive.
This adventure is missing the inner cardstock cover. The maps have been replaced with copies. The outer cover and adventure book are both in Good condition.
The outer cover has heavy creasing along the fold, corner rounding, edge wear, light scuffing, and a few scratches. The inner cover is missing and not included. The maps have been copied so it is complete.
The adventure book is in Good condition. It shows a light discoloration along the right edge of the cover, the staples are rusty, moderate corner rounding and edgewear, and a few light discolored spots here and there. A few page corners were folded and the pages are grey with age. Overall this is a nice playing copy, it's sturdy, and with the copies it is complete and ready to challenge another group of foolhardy adventurers.
Please look at the images and contact me if you have any questions.
Most of my packing supplies are reused, so don't be too surprised if you have a combination of paper, airbags, and whatever else I have laying around.
I would be happy to wrap your gift purchase at no charge and write a personal note on the packing slip. Just add a note to the shopping cart at check-out.
