A1 Slave Pits of the Undercity, Vintage Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st Edition Adventure Module by David Cook, TSR9039, World of Greyhawk, Good/Very Good Condition
This vintage 24-page module was authored by David Cook and was published by TSR in 1980. Module A1 was the beginning of the Slave Lords saga and details the reign of terror their yellow-sailed ships caused to the Flanaess.
The adventures continue in Modules A2 Secret of the Slavers Stockade, A3 Assault of the Aerie of the Slave Lords, and concludes in module A4 In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords. These great adventures were later collected in a super-module, A1-4 Scourge of the Slave Lords. Ah, so much Greyhawk fun.
Set on Oerth, the World of Greyhawk, this excellent adventure will challenge characters of levels 4 to 7. Ah, so much Greyhawk fun.
Oh yeah, the cover also features a bearded female dwarf. One of the "great controversies" roiling fantasy worlds all over the multiverse!
From the cover of the adventure:
It is time to put a stop to the marauders! For years the coastal towns have been burned and looted by the forces of evil. You and your fellow adventurers have been recruited to root out and destroy the source of these raids. But beware, hundreds of good men and women have been taken by the slavers and have never been seen or heard from again!
This module was originally used for the official ADVANCED DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Tournament at GenCon XIII and is the first of four in a series of related tournament modules from TSR.
This module contains a challenging scenario, the tournament scoring system plus nine pre-rolled, playtested tournament characters. Also included are large-scale referee's maps, notes, and background information. A1 is a complete adventure in itself, but it is also a companion to A2 (Secret of the Slavers' Stockade), A3 (Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords), and A4 (In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords). Be sure to look for other exciting adventure modules from the Game Wizards at TSR.
This adventure is Good to Very Good condition showing some wear. The outer cover shows heavy corner rounding, creasing along the fold, and edgewear.
The adventure book is in very good shape. The corners and edges show heavy wear, there are a few discolored spots here and there, and the pages are grey with age and use. There are a few pencil notes (hit points), a few stray pencil marks, a few discolored spots. Overall, this module is complete and in very good shape. It will certainly challenge your players as it did mine!
If you are a Greyhawk aficionado like myself, here is a link to a great online map of the Flanaess by Anna B. Meyer. I can get lost in her maps for hours!
